11/16/2019 0 Comments Finding our groove...When we soft opened our bakery a year ago, we announced our arrival in the most cheeky way possible. Having gleaned inspiration from Frank Cross of the Scrooged Universe, we decided to deliver our message of "Life is Hard. Eat Cake." in the most ridiculous way possible. When Frank terrified his viewers, he was willing to sacrifice lives to get his message across. We have a lighter look than Frank started out with but we thank him for paving the way for us to announce our opening in a ridiculous fashion.
We are a bit ridiculous. We arrived on a cold winter's day in January and couldn't even get the heat working on the farm for three days. The first days on the farm were hard. Life was hard. And it stayed hard for a long time. As the clock wound around and the calendar flipped through the seasons we found ourselves in the cold once again. We'd been through the hard time and now it was time for cake. Cake is so good. Life is harder without cake. Monarch Marie Antoinette would be lambasted by critics over comments concerning cake. She would later lose her head. While our cakes are nothing to lose your head over, we do appreciate the sentiment that a delicious cake during the cold winter months can be so soothing after a hard year. None of us gets to escape the trials the world throws at us. So why should we escape the goodness that life also has to offer. I'm thankful for cake. Cake is experiencing a renaissance like it hasn't seen since before Bastille Day. It's being enjoyed at breakfast now, more than ever before. Cake has always been enjoyed at breakfast. These days we're simply more accepting. We're also capable of making a delicious cake that also has a conscious. A cake with a soul. Our cakes are a perfect treat at the end of a long day. They are wonderful for your large family gatherings when more cake is never enough. They are big, full of goodness and store for up to six months frozen (if re-wrapped properly). Thank you Frank for inspiring us to reach for ridiculous heights. And thank you to our faithful, loyal friends who love Cloverleaf Farm's fine baked goods. It really is a pleasure to craft the things that will be making you smile in the years to come.
